01 · Context

Digital payslips by default — a regulatory shift, overnight.

Securibox needed a product to support France's 2017 electronic payslip norm — built on its existing document collection, parsing, and secure delivery solutions — while ensuring confidential, long-term access.

The regulation authorised employers to issue payslips in electronic format by default; employers must inform employees but do not need permission to switch. Employees retain a legal right to opt out and request paper. The product had to make both sides of that equation feel equally clear.

The design question:

A platform-built portal that inherits trust from Securibox's existing solutions, rather than a product re-engineered from zero under a regulatory deadline.

How do we answer the 2017 norm — digital payslips by default, employee opt-out for paper — with a product that guarantees secure, personal, and long-term access?

Foundation

Reuse the platform, don't rebuild it

Securibox solutions mapped onto the payslip use case.

Identified how existing Securibox document and secure delivery solutions could serve the payslip use case — collection, parsing, and digital access. The platform's existing capabilities meant RH could ship within the regulatory window without re-implementing secure storage or PKI from scratch.

Mapped the 2017 legal framework: default electronic, employee opt-out right, employer obligations for monthly delivery. Translated each obligation into a product behaviour the employer and employee can both verify directly in the portal.

Designed the RH portal on top of Securibox — secure document delivery, intuitive access to the digital payslip — for French SMEs and their employees. Trust-first tone and error states tuned for moments where access or consent fails.
